Our Story

Loes Mensink is co-founder of The Legal Bench and is also an attorney in the field of fund structuring with a focus on venture capital and innovation. Loes became an expert in interim legal recruitment by setting up and building the Legal Bench as of 2017. She is pro-active and likes to think along with clients on how to establish their legal departments in the most efficient way and is strong in identifying the core competences and ideal working environments for candidates. Loes is well known within the Dutch VC Funds market and was involved in 30+ fundraisings over the past 5 years for fund managers and public and private Investors. Previously, Loes was an attorney at Clifford Chance in the Funds & Investment Management team. Loes has worked for A&O Shearman on an interim basis and been seconded to Blackrock Amsterdam, where she supported the business with financial supervisory and asset management matters and gained a good understanding of inhouse legal roles. Loes studied Dutch Law and Business Administration in Groningen.

Willemijn de Wit is a partner at The Legal Bench. Previously, Willemijn was an attorney at Clifford Chance in the Corporate M&A and Employment section, which gave her experience in the international transaction practice. Willemijn is known as an emphatic and connecting person and for her pragmatic approach. She currently combines her partnership at The Legal Bench with interim legal assignments for various clients, both law firms and corporates. Furthermore, she is founder and director of the MiekFoundation, a foundation with the aim of improving the accessibility of education for young girls in Africa. Willemijn studied Dutch Law at the Free University of Amsterdam.
